The animation not being impressive in any way is another way this looked like it was just a fluff anime to watch for fun, but you do not really get invested in it. At the very least this clear distinction was nice to see. The animation was by no means impressive, but it was interesting to see the clear difference between the human world and the demon world. This is mainly with the way the demon world was animated and the other yokai as well. I do remember that the animation of this anime was very nice. And if the main reason I liked was a cute fluffy yokai then there cannot be much to the show. The main reason I remember liking this anime is the character Moja (Fuzzy). The goal of fluff pieces of anime like this is to make the viewer feel good and to put a smile on their face even if just for a little while. Sometimes it is nice to watch those cute and comedic anime when you are having a bad day that overall are not great anime, but that does not matter because I do not think that is even the goal of anime like these. That kind of sounds like a bad thing, but it’s not. This anime is more of a feel good one to watch when you feel like watching something that you will not get too invested in or attached to. Not that much interesting stuff even happens in the first season.

It is a supernatural anime, but it sometimes feels like a slice of life because the stakes were never really very high and we do kind of see a day in the of Ashiya now that he is working at the mononokean. I enjoyed the calm/slice of life feel of the anime. The first season of Fukigen na Mononokean was nothing great, but it was pretty good.
